Membership – Church of Christ – 1889 Genessee Ave Columbus, OH

Membership

Membership in the church of Christ is not based on any form of voting by members or leadership.

But when a person follows the New Testament examples and teachings for becoming a Christian, then they will be added to the church through baptism. They must hear the gospel of Christ, believe in Jesus Christ, God’s son; repent of all their past sins; confess that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God; and then be baptized (buried) in water. All these things are required for the remission of sins (Romans 10:17; Numbers 8:24; Acts 17:30-31; Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4). Members who remain faithful until death will receive the crown of life (Revelation 2:10; Galatians 6:7-9).

Currently, there are churches of Christ in every state in America numbering more than 1.1 million members in more than 12,000 congregations.

Christ has promised to save His church at the last day (Ephesians 5:23, 27). No salvation is promised to those outside of Christ but instead they “shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).
