James Barnes
James wife Yolanda came to our church family in the early nineties. Yolanda was baptized on September 10, 1995, and James was baptized on March 23, 2000. He was appointed as a Deacon in October 2002, and an Elder in September 2016.
They have three children -- Alayna, Anthony, and Angelo. James baptized each of his children into the Lord's Church. James and his wife are both attorneys. Yolanda is a member of the Voices of Charity and is an active member of the Marriage Ministry. James also teaches bible class and oversees the Operations Ministry. He enjoys coaching basketball and playing chess. The Operations Ministry is responsible for Finance, Building & Grounds, Transportation and Security. This ministry provides leadership and oversight in the operational and financial administration of the Church. Its responsibilities include working with leadership on matters relating to:
* church budget* allocation of normal operating expenses of the Church and its ministries, using generally approved accounting methods
* sound fiscal management
* investments
* administrative staffing
* maintenance of Church buildings and properties
* facility security
* control of facility cost
* maintenance of transportation vehicles
* re-cycling program
* kitchen team
The Operations Ministry may also sponsor workshops and individual sessions for members and guests about handling of personal finances in a Godly way. It also works with the Administration Ministry to control the usage of the Church building and properties. Certain areas of the Church building can be made available to members and guests for events such as weddings, funerals, sponsored community events, workshops, and church events.
"Then they put it in the hand of the foremen who had the oversight of the house of the Lord; and they gave it to the work men who worked in the house of the Lord, to repair and restore the house.”
